Where empowered teachers come together

Teachers are at the heart of our educational system. Teachers of  India.org is a portal for teachers to help hone their professional capabilities by:

1. Creating a forum for teachers to freely interact with each other across languages
2. Facilitating the sharing of insights and best practices of teachers across the country
3. Providing access to resources, information and new experiments in education from all over the world in all Indian languages

Teachersofindia.org is a space for teachers to express their ideas and share their thoughts on any subject that touches their professional lives. It involves the uploading of material created by and for teachers in English and vernacular languages. These will be short articles written by teachers on subjects of their choice – including classroom practice, their experiences in school, ideas that they tried to experiment on, etc. The portal also includes a directory of resource organisations working in education; this will help the teachers gain access to useful material and people in their respective geographies.

Resource material (articles, policy documents, manuals, tools, modules, etc.) by experts in the field will be made available on the portal either directly or through links. Teachers will also be able to interact with one another and post questions, opinions, etc. The number of languages offered by the portal will gradually increase until all major Indian languages are covered.

The Home Page features a “Teacher of the Month” that recognizes the special efforts teachers and to work towards building a community of teachers.
This Portal will offer resources related to:

1. Education Perspectives (Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Economics, etc)
2. Classroom Practice (Principles of Pedagogy, Pedagogy of Language, Science, Mathematics, History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, EVS, Art, Music, Dance, Sports) includes manuals, activities, modules, tools, etc.
3. Subject Content (Language, Science, Mathematics, History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, EVS, Art, Music, Dance, Sports, etc.)
4. Stories, Songs, Games that teachers can use in class
5. Reading Resources (including links to other websites/portals/on line library
6. Research Information
7. Specific Case Studies
