FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 1.  What is the NKC Online Contest?     The National Knowledge Commission (NKC) is a high level advisory body to the Prime Minister of India, with the objective of transforming India into a knowledge society. To accelerate this process of reform and create a groundswell of public opinion, NKC has launched online contest comprising debates, films and essays. These contests seek to engage students, the academic community and the citizens of the country in moving towards a knowledge society. 2.  Are there any registration fees?     The NKC Online contest is a free contest. There are no registration fees. 3.  When can I start participating in the contest?     The contest period is from 1st February 2009, 12:00:00 A.M. Indian Standard Time (IST) to 5th March 2009, 11:59:59 P.M. IST (Essay)  and 8th March 2009, 11:59:59 P.M. IST (Debate and Film). 4.  Can I submit entries on all of the topics?     You can submit entries on all topics – but only one entry per topic. There are two topics in the Debate category, two topics in the Essay category, and one topic in the Film category. Thus, any participant is permitted to submit upto five entries in the NKC online contest 5.  Can I enter as part of a team?     There can only be one winning contestant per entry. Participation as a team is not permitted. 6.  What are the entry requirements?     The Contest is open to all individuals, except those connected, directly or indirectly with the National Knowledge Commission in any capacity whatsoever. 7.  What is the judging criterion?     The winners will be selected by the National Knowledge Commission, based on a combination of criteria, including quality, originality, ratings received and/or number of views by the user community. 8.  I have a question that is not answered in this FAQ.
